Sponsor Visits....It's Either now or Later.

After my last visit with my sponsor prior to this blog I experience some frustration due to having a sense of a lack of a hands-on experience. Even though I realize that there isn't exactly much that you can do while having a editor as your sponsor except maybe edit a few papers, it still became kind of nerve-racking when things weren't going the way I'd planned them too. Thankfully, Coach Snyder gave me a few prudent ideas that may come in handy for my next visit for this Friday. When I was at the sponsor's office, I went over the almost finish product of my research paper with Mr. Barnum. There wasn't as much err as I thought there would have been, but he's the editor and I'm trusting his opinion.

My sponsor was one step ahead of  you, Mr. Abrams by asking me what I wanted to do with the upcoming presentation and why, just like we had discussed during class. I tried to elaborate the opinionated column idea  and he seemed kinda iffy about it, but Mr. Barnum, promised that he'd let me know officially by what will hopefully be my next visit with him. Anyway, he gave me some input on things like video clips or old coverage of media files that might make my presention that much exciting, varying on my topic for my presentation. We'll see what happens.!

Connection #6 Media yesterday and tomorrow..

While in History, a few special guest came and informed the class about their past experiences in the military forces. As I was listening of the astonishing accounts of their lives during 50's war-torn, barren Korean and Vietnam lands, it occured to me that media exposure in the news years ago in contrast with the present have differed drastically. Although the government and media during the 1950 and 60's presented the war as a crisis, most U.S. citizens of the era were enthusiatic to join their country in the fight for freedom; converting ordinary factories into war mechines, proganda, and patriotic encouragment.
In the modern warfare era  broadcast and editorials have had negative illustration of war pertaining to suicide bombers, religious debate, sterotypical minoritie antics, and injudicious photos. Some might say it has a positive influence on citizens, making them aware of the current times, but anytime a meter needs to be aired on T.V. to measure the amount of " terrorisim" activity going on, than there is an issue. Media may get so outrageous that the actual portrayals and photos of war victims may be posted on the news.

On a lighter note, the veteran visits was an insightful. The entire experience allowed me to apply these connections to my senior project. Who would have thought that the Korean and Vietnam War could be applied in so many different aspects not only media and editiorial articles. I even got a chance to try on the actual uniform and took a picture.

Life without You is like....?

Life without my cell phone is like Hell in the actual sense of the word. I need to have my cell phone on me at all times, without it I speak in tongues and start to get cold sweats,  than I literally go into hysterics. Even though it sounds very superficial, I'm not too sure what I would do if I were to be without it. So, in "My choice blog", i'll try to decipher a day in my life minus my beloved phone. It's Friday and I've lost my phone for some odd reason, I can't find it anywhere, I've looked in all the possible places that it could've been, Ugggh! During school, the day seems like forever because I'm not able to text any of my friends, yet alone comprehend the time of day. To put it frankly, my school day sucks!

Then evening approaches in other words I'm screwed since I have no possible way of calling or texting my friends to go have fun..and can you blame me? Mr. Abrams, you know how it used to be when you were younger hanging with your homies and having a good time. Anyway, I guess the cell phone is unnecessary in some aspects of life, such as the advantage of  pictures, internet, and games, but without the phone life for me and every other human entity on the planet would be an onerous time because communication would be twice as hard and entertainment in general would be harder to come by, granted many people went through it during the twentieth century, however technology makes the world smaller and easier to live in.

Paranormal Activity..connection# 4

The similarities between abortion and the paranormal are more obivious than one may have thought. Like the terms pro-life and choice thereare also similar terminologies utilized by Ghost hunters such as Jason and Grant on Syfy's hit series, Ghost Hunters. These definitions are known as speculators and non-believers, a speculator is a person who theorizes about certain elusive legends, like bigfoot, the lachness monster, and various others, including GHOST.  While non-believers discredit the paranormal as a real phenomenom due to lack of evidence and support. This resembles the abortion controversy, which tends to entail an divise argument against right and wrong,  theorie v. grotesque, and so on. Many might say that Abortion and the Parnormal go hand and hand, both directly and indirectly because of the focus in media, and social devices, not to mention causinghttp://www.syfy.com/gh/index.php quite a stir when bought up for debate.

Sponsor Visits...Bridge over stormy waters.

I decided to visit my sponsor on Friday, March 12, 2010. It was a rainy icky day, not to mention the day of the Grease Production. While I was with my sponsor, I ended up working on  some of my research paper. For the majority of my visit I ended up taking citations for my research paper, which was spent mostly in solitude. Its nonchalant and boring visits like this that make me question the llegetimacy and dedication I actually have towards this project as a whole. Usually I become frustated and disheartened with my results thus far, but like the adage anything worth having is worth fighting for!

We Go ToGetHer like...GREASE!!

I'm extremely elated to say that today is the moment we have all been awaiting. Lindenwold High School's rendition of the magnate production of Grease will be premiring TONIGHT!! Like the highly popular movie, the school production of Grease will feature all the characters, The Pink Ladies; Marty, Frenchy, Rizzo, and Jan not to mention Sandy, as well as the T-birds, Kenicke, Sonny, Doody, Roger and Danny. This jocular play has an amalgam of adolescent awakening, love, rivalry, and most importantly fun, which will resonate well with the audiences. To be frank, Grease will take you on a rollercoster of emotion, laughter, and a heart-filled with warmth of personal teenage memories.
